Green America (www.greenamerica.org) is a nonprofit, membership organization whose mission is to harness economic power—the strength of consumers, investors, businesses, and the marketplace—to create a socially just and environmentally sustainable society.
The Better Paper Project mandate is to protect forests, climate, and communities by fostering collaboration among magazine industry stakeholders to encourage the use of socially and environmentally responsible paper.
We are looking for college and graduate students with strong communications skills and an interest in environmental activism to support project outreach.
Responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and contacting prospective project participants to sign up and participate on our web site,
- Communicating our work through existing networks and attracting new partners,
- Engaging corporate partners (magazines, advertisers, etc.) in the project work,
- Helping to write content for our website at www.BetterPaper.org.
- Conducting research for reports and white papers
An ideal candidate will:
- Have strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Have communications or marketing experience.
- Be able to work independently and take initiative.
- Be interested in social and environmental responsibility issues and have at least some knowledge or experience in the area.
- Have strong research skills.
