Green America’s Green Business Network (GBN) is the first and largest association of socially and environmentally responsible businesses in the nation. Working together, GBN combines community, environmental sustainability, and social justice in a way that builds each business, benefits everyone, and helps heal the planet. The GBN team provides all key services to the approximately 4,000 business members and is central to the mission of Green America.

This position acts as an assistant to the Director of Standards and Seal of Approval. The intern will participate in the development and roll-out of a new tiered certification system, assist in all aspects of the internal screening process, and conduct research to expand our online resources for businesses.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the green business movement, network with cutting edge businesses across America, and gain a deeper understanding of the steps needed to move toward a deeper commitment to sustainability in a green economy.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage member services requests, questions, and troubleshooting related to green business certification program.
- Conduct one on one calls with green business members to support their transition to new online certification platform.
- Monitor and implement proper use of Green America Seal of Approval on green business websites.
- Create a procedure/system for reporting user data from online certification platform.
- Perform weekly updates to user records in GBN database management systems.
- Present weekly usage reports and customer service issues in Green Business Network team meetings.
- Prepare performance reports for business members ready for gold level certification review.
- Research green business best practices in a variety of industries and/or specialized issue areas.

- A strong interest in working with and learning about small businesses committed to the green marketplace.
