Bad Apple Campaign Bad Apple Campaign: End smartphone sweatshops

NATIONAL CALL-IN DAY OF ACTION:

Call in day

Call Apple and ask them to be a leader in protecting workers from toxic chemicals

How? Call 408.996.1010 and share your concerns with a representative.

When? April 1, 2014

Why? Apple takes its customers' concerns seriously. Join us in calling Apple today and letting them know you care about the workers who make Apple products and hope Apple will lead the way among smartphone manufacturers in protecting workers from exposure to dangerous chemicals. If you use an iPhone or another Apple product, be sure to let them know!

Suggested script:
"Hi, my name is ___ and I’m calling from ___. I am a huge fan of [insert your Apple product here]*. Apple has been a leader on so many issues, from reducing conflict minerals in its supply chain to increasing the amount of renewable energy used at its data centers. I am hoping Apple can also be a leader in protecting worker health and safety. I am calling to ask Apple to remove the most dangerous chemicals, such as benzene and n-hexane, from its manufacturing processes to ensure that workers are not losing their lives or livelihoods just to assemble a smartphone. I hope that the iPhone 6 will be the first phone on the market that protects worker health and safety!

* If you are not a fan or user of any Apple products you can leave out this line.
