Green America: Growing the Green Economy for People and the Planet

Oakland, CA

Mosaic is on a mission to open up clean energy investing to the public and fundamentally change the way energy is financed. To date, over 400 people have invested nearly $400,000 through our crowdfunding platform to finance six solar power plants.

Together, Mosaic’s first six projects created 120 kW of clean solar energy, produced local jobs and are predicted to save community organizations hundreds of thousands of dollars on their utility bills. The beneficiaries of these solar projects ranged from People’s Grocery, a food justice organization in Oakland, CA to The Murdoch Center, a vibrant community center in Flagstaff, AZ.

Recently, Mosaic received a $2M grant from the U.S. Department of Energy and raised $3.4M from venture capital investors to bring our crowdfunding platform to scale. Be first to know when we launch our new model by signing up at

We intend to use the $5K Green America People & Planet Award to produce a video showing the incredible social and environmental impacts that our six solar projects have created. We hope that this video will inspire more people to invest in clean energy, creating a win for the planet and for local communities.
