Green America: Growing the Green Economy for People and the Planet

Sunlight Solar Systems
Salt Lake City, UT

Sunlight Solar Systems is a locally owned and operated electrical/solar contractor providing design and installation of solar systems for residential, commercial and industrial projects. We have been in business since 2008 with more than 250 solar systems installed state-wide and 100-percent customer satisfaction.  Whether we are working on a small residential or a large commercial system, we take pride in every project, we understand what our customers want, work within their budget and provide a custom design for every system. Our number one goal is to educate the public with the best practices to integrate solar on their homes or businesses in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.

This business was started by Marc and Cammy Staker; as we are a husband and wife team, we bring the knowledge of a trained Master Electrician and Associates of Science Degree. This not only provides our customers with top quality solar systems but the knowledge and experience to use renewable energy vs oil. We at Sunlight Solar are very passionate about the air quality in our state of Utah and the importance of decreasing our carbon footprint. My goal at Sunlight Solar is to build an organization, culture and environment in which talented people share the same goals as we do. So far we have an amazing team that works for us and are as dedicated to our company as I am.  Tracking the metric of the organization and the people that work for me are easy as everyone is very motivated to see more solar installations in Utah.  I feel everyone has great autonomy and a skill set required to be safe, ethical and communicate effectively as they all have demonstrated.

We believe in walking the walk and talking the talk. Our office and warehouse is a net-zero building and we recycle everything from glass, cardboard, metals and plastics. All of our team members use alternative modes of transportation such as skateboarding, biking or taking the local trax-train. We take great pride in volunteering in our local community; last year we installed a 2kw solar system for a Habitat for Humanity home. We also re-wired the "Locals First" building, which help create a community space for all types of local small businesses to network and grow.
