Ask Nestle to Stop Child Labor on Cocoa Plantations

Companies: Nestlé

Despite Nestle USA’s public commitment to ending child labor on cocoa farms by July 2005, child labor abuses on West African cocoa farms continues unabated. The International Labor Rights Forum is asking consumers to send letters to Nestle demanding that the company monitor all farms to ensure no child labor is being used, invest more money in rehabilitation and education programs for former cocoa workers, as well as make a substantial and sustained commitment to Fair Trade cocoa.
