In April 2003 Dial agreed to pay $10 million to settle a class-action sexual harassment lawsuit brought by 90 female employees at the company's Aurora, Illinois plant. The suit alleged that the women were subjected to "comments and conduct of a sexual nature" including male co-workers touching their breasts and buttocks and exposing themselves to the women. Dial admitted no wrongdoing, but agreed to the settlement and to let monitors into its soap plant.
