Making your own beer at home is a greener and cheaper alternative than picking up a 6 pack from your local package store. Beginner brewing kits can be found online for a reasonable price.
Buy from local breweries, vineyards, and distilleries.
Buy choosing to purchase your alcohol from these options you will be supporting small local businesses and lower greenhouse gases by choosing products that did not have to travel great distances to get to you.
Save the bottle, drink from the Draught or buy a growler
If you are buying bottles or cans look at the packaging. Is it made out of recycled material? Is it recyclable?
Buy Fair Trade alcoholic beverages.

Buy organic products
Drinking alcohol that is organic can be less toxic to you and the planet. 95 percent of ingredients need to be organic for it to be USDA organic certified.
Some organic spirits include: Square One Organic Vodka, Tru Organic Vodka, Vodka 14 and Ran Organic Vodka
Buy Box wine
They are lighter to ship which means less environmental impact. Switching to wine in a box for the 97 percent of wines that are made to be consumed within a year would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about two million tons.
