What We Do

Green America, in partnership with the Social Investment Forum, is leading the charge to increase the amount of investment revenue put into community development financial institutions throughout the US.

At a time when local, state, and the federal government are taking money out of underserved communities, our Community Investing Program is working to ensure that resources are available to help build healthy sustainable communities here and abroad.

Through our Community Investing Program we:

• Provide educational resources for individuals and community groups looking to put their savings and investment dollars to work to help build sustainable communities.
• Work with the Social Investment Forum to encourage institutional investors to steer at least 1% of their assets under management into community investing vehicles. 
• Increase general awareness and mainstream media coverage about the impact of community investing in underserved communities worldwide.
