The conversation around nanoparticles and genetically engineered foods becomes increasingly personal and much more time sensitive when we consider the foods that we are feeding our children in their most fragile developmental stages. Friends of the Earth (FoE) tested Enfamil, Similac, Gerber (Nestlé), and Well Beginnings (Walgreens) to reveal that six of the leading infant formula brands contain nanoparticles. This is especially shocking when recent studies found these tiny particles to be potentially toxic. Their tiny size allows nanoparticles to flow freely through our bodies, potentially getting into places (gut wall, bloodstream, organs and cells) that larger particles cannot.
