The Dirty Money Campaign, sponsored by Rainforest Action Network (RAN), is working to end Wells Fargo's financing of environmentally and socially irresponsible projects. The bank is criticized for bankrolling endeavors such as mountaintop removal for coal extraction and logging in Alaska's Tongass National Forest. RAN is calling for public pressure on CEO Dick Kovacevich to outline and implement a responsible investing regimen for Wells Fargo. Click on the URL to take action now.

ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, has criticized Wells Fargo for several years over predatory lending practices. In 2006, after three years of campaigning which saw ACORN stage numerous actions against Wells Fargo, the banking giant relented and announced it would change lending practices that are widely seen as predatory. However, when Wells Fargo announced it would not compensate borrowers who had suffered as a result of the very practices it was abandoning, ACORN began organizing victims of predatory loans for class action suits against the nation’s fifth largest bank.
