The Center of Sustainability Solutions builds on Green America’s work over the years, where we’ve brought together industry groups across supply chains to create major shifts in such areas as solar, community investing, sustainable agriculture and clean electronics. The Center supports Innovation Networks, focused working groups of stakeholders with the objective of making significant, industry-wide system change. Current networks focus on clean electronics, climate and banking, and regenerative agriculture.
The Foundations and Corporate Giving Director will lead the management, cultivation, and stewardship of the Center’s foundation supporters and business sponsors, while also growing the pipeline for both revenue streams. Revenue targets are approximately $1 million to $1.5 million per year. The Director will work across the focus areas of the Center to develop and execute a plan that will support ongoing revenue cultivation for all of the branches of the Center’s work. The Foundations and Corporate Giving Director will also work closely with Green America’s Development Director and Programs Team for the areas of work between Green America’s consumer programs and the supply chain-focused work of the Center for Sustainability Solutions.

The Center of Sustainability Solutions builds on Green America’s work over the years, where we’ve brought together industry groups across supply chains to create major shifts in such areas as solar, banking and investing, sustainable agriculture and fair labor. The Center supports Innovation Networks, focused working groups of stakeholders with the objective of making significant, industry-wide system change.
The Climate Safe Lending Network (CSL) is a multi-stakeholder, cross-industry working group supporting initiatives that focus on moving banks to take the carbon out of credit – decarbonizing their lending portfolios and balance sheets and shifting the focus of their lending to stopping greenhouse gas emissions and drawing down existing atmospheric carbon.
This is a new position on the CSL Network team. Working closely with the Managing Director, the Program Manager will contribute to the development and growth of the Climate Safe Lending Network and its ongoing Initiatives, which includes stakeholder engagement and recruiting; meeting design, planning, and facilitation; communications; and fundraising.
Post-pandemic, this position will involve domestic and international travel for Network meetings, conferences and business cultivation meetings, staff training, and other purposes. CSL is a virtual Network – the position may be housed in Washington, DC at the Green America offices, but may also be filled remotely.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management
1. Work closely with the Managing Director to manage the CSL Network and its priority initiatives.
2. Identify opportunities for growing the CSL Network and deepening member engagement.
3. Participate in the design and planning of CSL Network meetings and events in collaboration with the CSL team.
4. Deliver CSL Network meetings and events that run smoothly and achieve desired outcomes, including meeting facilitation and support, managing logistical arrangements, and preparing meeting reports.
5. Organize and help facilitate CSL staff, Initiative, and Design Team meetings, with primary leadership of at least one of CSL’s Initiatives.
Communication
1. Participate in new participant and CSL member engagement.
2. Lead the design, administration and moderation of an online communications portal for network members.
3. Conduct outreach to current and potential network members to include preparing a monthly newsletter and other communications materials.
4. Enhance CSL’s online presence to include maintaining and improving CSL’s website, moderating CSL’s LinkedIn group, and regularly posting on CSL’s social media channels.
Fundraising
1. Contribute to growing and diversifying the CSL Network’s sources of funding by identifying potential new funders and helping to prepare grant applications and fundraising materials.
2. Design, manage and administer a network membership program to be developed in collaboration with the CSL Network team, including specific revenue targets for membership.
3. Participate in donor stewardship to include tracking the completion of grant deliverables and preparing donor reports.
Participate in Cross-Departmental Teams
1. Provide operational support to the Center for Sustainability Solutions, as needed.
2. Ensure that knowledge gained is converted into “knowledge capital” for the Center for Sustainability Solutions by documenting work processes involved in managing Innovation Networks and successful strategies used in CSL operations.
3. Participate in Green America staff meetings and processes and other duties as required.
4. Participate in Green America Cross Departmental Teams: The success of our organizational work includes the voluntary participation of staff members from all levels of the organization in cross-departmental teams addressing a range of issues to strengthen our impact and planning, as time and other work commitments allow.

• Demonstrated project management skills, with experience managing several projects simultaneously.
• A passion for and strong knowledge of environmental sustainability and banking/finance
• Strong written communication and research skills; able to synthesize and effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts

Our editorial interns are fully involved in the Green America editorial team. All interns have the opportunity to acquire short published clips and gain exposure to many aspects of magazine publishing. We are looking for an intern with exceptional writing and editing skills, sharp analytic skills, meticulous attention to detail and factual accuracy, and familiarity with Microsoft Office and internet research.Â
The editorial intern will work on Your Green Life, Powered by Green America. This is a guide to green living and environmentally responsible products and services. The intern will research stories, conduct interviews, and write articles with tips and strategies for green living. The intern may pitch their own stories so the role is suitable for someone who is driven and already cares about environmental and social justice education.Â
The primary responsibility of our fellows is to assist the Editor in Chief and the Communications Team with the annual Your Green Life guide and the Green American quarterly magazine.Â
Due to the COVID-19 crisis this internship is planned to be fully remote, though if the Green America offices do reopen this summer, interns are welcome to come in. Applicants must plan to work Eastern Time hours.Â
Editorial and Writing: Work with Editor in Chief and the Editorial and Communications Teams to create content for our publications and communications. Â
Assist with preliminary research and outlining of each publication.Â
Pitch and write articles for print publications (80% of the job, approximately)Â
Write blog entries and web content as needed.  Â
Work as part of a team with the Editor in Chief and Associate Editors. Â
